Mavs Gaming began bracket play with a win in THE TIPOFF, powered by AT&T, after defeating Grizz Gaming 68-48 on Wednesday.

The first quarter was all Grizz Gaming as Rigby drained all four of his three-pointers, almost outscoring Mavs Gaming by himself. Rigby also posted two steals in the opening quarter as Grizz Gaming held Mavs Gaming to 13 points. Kapp and Dayfri led the charge for the Mavs Gaming squad with six points and five points, respectively. The second quarter was a low-scoring affair as both teams had trouble finding the bottom of the net. FantaSZN struggled for the Mavs, turning the ball over twice by the 3:50 mark and missing both of his attempted shots in the quarter. Shotz was the highlight of the second for the Mavs, putting up four points and four boards. Grizz Gaming was able to take an early lead heading into the half, outscoring Mavs Gaming 30-23.

The third quarter was all Mavs Gaming as they outscored Grizz 25-6, erasing the seven-point deficit. Shotz was a monster on the glass in the third, accumulating six boards. After missing his first two shots of the half, Kapp was on a tear. He chipped in three assists and in the final three minutes of the third, Kapp hit four three-pointers. The fourth period was more of the same as the Mavs outscored the Grizz 20-12. Vandi missed all three of his attempts in the final period, finishing the game 3-14 from the field and 2-10 from deep. FantaSZN was a model teammate in the fourth, amassing six of his nine assists to close the game. Kapp led the Mavs in scoring, posting 23 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five assists and a steal in an efficient outing. Shotz was also big-time for the Mavs, racking up 14 points (7-7 FG), 16 rebounds, two assists and a steal. Shotz outrebounded the entire Grizz Gaming squad, who collected only 13 boards the whole game. Rigby led the Grizz in scoring with 18 points (6-13 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four steals and three assists in the discouraging blowout loss.
