On the second day of THE TIPOFF, powered by AT&T, Lakers Gaming were able to stave off a second-half comeback from Kings Guard Gaming to win 55-54 and secure their first win of the season.

Lakers Gaming got off to a hot start in the first quarter, jumping out to a 7-0 lead thanks to Krazy and Ryan1of1. It wasn’t until the three-minute mark where the Kings were on the board after Bash drove in for the dunk. The Lakers dominated the first quarter, finishing the frame up 16-6, but the Kings were able to comeback in the second quarter and took their first lead at the 2:18 mark after Bash hit two free throws. The Kings won the second quarter 18-12, but Lakers Gaming headed into the half up 28-24. Both teams struggled with turnovers, with Kings Gaming committing eight turnovers (three each from Regg and Bash) and Lakers Gaming turning the ball over six times (two each from Ryan1of1 and Krazy). Bash led all scorers with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while Regg chipped in with six points of his own. For Lakers Gaming, Krazy led the team with 10 points to go along with three rebounds, while Ryan1of1 had nine points and six assists. Fives were on the board for the supporting cast of Lakers Gaming, with GreenTooNice posting five points and five assists while GutureClutch had five steals at the end of the first half.

Lakers Gaming were able to start the second half strong, racing out to a 36-27 lead after Ryan1of1 hit a deep three. But Kings Guard Gaming never let the game get away from them, going on timely runs and getting big contributions from LogicStark, who hit three big three-pointers in the third quarter and scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half. Any time Kings Guard Gaming took the lead, Lakers Gaming answered back with timely shots from TreyDollaz and Ryan1of1, while Krazy was dominant on the offensive boards with big putback dunks. Kings Guard Gaming took a 54-53 lead thanks to a nice dunk from Regg, and looked to put the game away after GreenTooNice missed a wide-open corner three with 30 seconds left. However, Lakers Gaming were able to get a clutch stop, and with TreyDollaz on the break, Regg went for the intentional foul that sent TreyDollaz to the foul line, where he drained both of his free throws. Kings Guard Gaming took two timeouts to try and draw up a play for the final shot, but they couldn’t get a clean look as Regg missed a three-point shot and Lakers Gaming were able to squeak out the victory with a final score of 55-54.

Krazy had a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double to lead all scorers, with Ryan1of1 chipping in for 16 points and seven assists. TreyDollaz had 12 points and three assists of his own while FutureClutch was a defensive beast with five steals. The scoring for Kings Guard Gaming was evenly distributed, with LogicStark leading the way with 15 points on 5-of-9 from beyond the arc while both Regg (4-of-14) and Bash (5-of-11) each had 13 points. Bray led the Kings with 10 rebounds and had six points, while Kerry contributed with seven points, five rebounds and two blocks.
