Magic Gaming came from behind and secured a huge win over Hawks Talon GC during Tuesday’s contest of THE TIPOFF, powered by AT&T. Magic Gaming won by 58-52 despite being down through most of the contest.

Hawks Talon jumped ahead to a 14-13 lead following the first quarter, and they increased that advantage once the second quarter finished — they were up by just two points, however, at the break (31-29). Magic Gaming began their comeback in the third quarter with a 14-13 score, meaning these two sides were separated by just one point ahead of the final period. Magic Gaming came through in the clutch, though, and they took control of the contest while denying Hawks Talon’s comeback attempts time and time again. In the end, a 15-8 fourth-quarter score was enough to complete the comeback and carry Magic Gaming to the win here.

Reizey was the best player for Magic Gaming, finishing with 25 points and seven assists after shooting 11-of-19 from the field. ToXsiK filled the stat sheet with 10 points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds, and Profusion chipped in with 11 points. Djbama was the only Magic player who didn’t score in double digits. May picked up the slack for him, though, as he ended with 10 points and 16 boards.

BP and Kel carried Hawks Talon, but their efforts weren’t enough. BP had 25 points and five assists, while Kel chipped in with 20 points after shooting 9-of-18 from the field. The rest of the team combined just for seven points, although Lee had a strong game on the glass since he contributed 16 boards.

Hawks Talon GC came out in Game 2 and decided to turn things around and didn’t waste time, as they quickly jumped to a 27-9 lead following the first quarter. That 18-point advantage would be everything they would need, as they never relinquished their lead during the remainder of the contest. Even though Magic Gaming won both the second (14-11) and third (18-17) quarters, Hawks Talon still had a sizable 14-point lead entering the final minutes. They won the final quarter by a 16-11 score and, in the end, cruised their way to a comfortable 71-52 victory.

BP came just one assist shy of a double-double but still finished with 26 points and nine assists, leading the Hawks in both categories. Kel added 19 points, while followTHEGOD chipped in with 13 points. Lee only had six points, but did his part on the glass after grabbing 15 rebounds.

Reizey paced Magic Gaming with 23 points and eight assists on 9-of-12 from the field, but the rest of the team was unable to contribute. No other Magic player scored in double digits, although May stood out with eight points, five blocks and four rebounds.
