T-Wolves Gaming Goes Up 2-1

August 3, 2019

T-Wolves Gaming took a 2-1 series lead with a solid 56-47 win over 76ers Gaming Club on Saturday in Game 3 of the NBA 2K League Finals.

T-Wolves Gaming took a tough loss in Game 2 but got right back to work in Game 3, despite a delay for a few hours due to technical issues. Once again, BearDaBeast had the right of way against Newdini33 and the Sixers’ defense, scoring 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting and picking up eight assists. The real key to the Wolves’ win, though, was TURNUPDEFENSE, who led the T-Wolves in smothering Radiant. TURNUP only had three steals of the T-Wolves’ 14, but his constant pressure on Radiant made the 76ers’ offense grind to a screeching halt. Add in some nice transition buckets from FEAST and JoJo, who both had double-digits, and you have a solid, all-around win from the rookie franchise on the verge of becoming league champions.

The cracks started to show in the 76ers play this game. Down 11 points at the half, the 76ers couldn’t get almost offense going apart from ZDS’ nine points, with Radiant only putting up five points at the break. The second half was worse for Radiant, who scored just two more points to finish with seven points on three-of-seven shooting, 11 assists, and nine turnovers. TURNUPDEFENSE shut Radiant down, so the 76ers instead had to rely on ZDS to stay alive. ZDS played his heart out, scoring 28 on 11-of-22 shooting, six-of-12 from beyond the arc, but the rest of the team simply didn’t have a chance to contribute. With the T-Wolves shut-down of Radiant in full effect, no other Sixer had double-digit points while the team coughed up the ball 19 times. With the T-Wolves having a near perfect game, the Sixers’ will need to show that veteran grit in Game 4 or their legacy of heartbreaking playoff losses will get another chapter added.
