76ers GC Bounces Back in Game 2

August 3, 2019

76ers Gaming Club bounced back from a Game 1 loss in a big way, taking a 47-point, 70-23 win to tie the NBA 2K League Finals at 1-1 on Saturday.

76ers Gaming Club got lit up in Game 1, but leave it to Coach of the Year Jeff Terrell to make adjustments for his team to shine in Game 2. The 76ers offense was sluggish in Game 1 but came alive in Game 2, thanks in large part to BreadwinnerLA and ZDS forcing the T-Wolves to not double Radiant. BreadwinnerLA put in 18 points on seven-of-12 shooting, ZDS had 17 points shooting three-of-six from beyond the arc, and Radiant finally got going, making his first three pointer of the series halfway through the first quarter and finishing with 18 points and nine assists. Steez put in a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double, but BreadwinnerLA was the true carry in this one. More impressive than the 76ers offense was their defense, led by BreadwinnerLA’s whopping nine steals, forcing the T-Wolves into 19 turnovers compared to the 76ers’ four. The 76ers came firing back after getting pounded in Game 2, but will have to keep up this insane pace if they want to keep dominating.

T-Wolves Gaming had momentum coming into Game 2, but couldn’t get going in this one thanks to the 76ers’ defensive adjustments. The T-Wolves had several shot clock violations, and their primary ball handlers, BearDaBeast and JMoneyRep817, turned the ball over a combined 11 times. The Wolves never got a chance to keep up with the 76ers, attempting just one more shot (29) than the 76ers had completed field goals (28-of-48). When you only take half the shots your opponent does, it doesn’t matter what else is happening on the court, you’re just going to get run over. The floodgates have opened on both teams so far in the series, and now it’s the Wolves’ turn to dig deep and try to bounce back, or else let their dream run come to a crashing halt.
