T-Wolves Lock Up Important Win

June 26, 2019

T-Wolves Gaming (6-6) played well in a must-win game against Warriors Gaming (7-8), winning 71-62 on Wednesday during Week 10 of the NBA 2K League.

T-Wolves Gaming came into Wednesday’s contest with a two-game winning streak and something to prove. Ever since JoJo transitioned to the sharpshooting rebounder build, the Wolves have just seemed to click like never before, introducing a lethal, multi-threat attack. Against the Warriors, everyone but FEAST finished with double-digit points, led by BearDaBeast’s 17-point, 15-assist double-double. TURNUPDEFENSE did just that against Bsmoove; limiting the Warriors’ number one scoring option to just 15 points on five-of-11 shooting while putting in 12 points of his own. Meanwhile, JMoneyRep817 had a solid night with 16 points on seven-of-12 shooting while JoJo led all scorers with 18 points and eight rebounds, shooting eight-of-12 from the field and two-of-three from beyond the arc. While winning every quarter against the playoff-bound Warriors is big, the T-Wolves will need to sustain this level of play for the rest of the season if it wants to claw its way into a postseason berth.

The Warriors, on the other hand, looked half-asleep in this game against a hungry T-Wolves squad. Several sloppy mistakes; errant passes, failing to put up a shot during possessions, and the occasional three-second violation kept the Warriors from truly making it back in this game. However, with Type playing with a heavy heart after the loss of a family member and the Warriors’ playoff spot already locked up, it’s hard to say if this version of the Warriors is cause for alarm heading into the playoffs. Even with 12 turnovers, the Warriors weren’t afraid to move the ball, finishing with 19 assists to the T-Wolves’ 22. Both CB13 and Gradient put up 11 points, Bsmoove worked his silky mid-range touch into 15 points and seven assists, and Type led the team with 16 points and eight boards. For now, the Warriors might not seem like a threat, but just wait until this team enters the playoffs in tournament mode; as winners of the two most recent mid-season tournaments.
