Battle of Point Guards Likely to Dictate Result

April 23, 2019

By Rotowire

Magic Gaming (0-2) will host T-Wolves Gaming (1-1) in the third week of NBA 2K League action.

Magic Gaming did not play last week, so they’ll be chomping at the bit to avenge a pair of losses in Week 1. Their first game of the regular season ended with a tight 59-57 loss to Cavs Legion GC (2-2). They went on to drop the next one by a score of 61-58 to Nets GC (2-0). The second defeat was especially heartbreaking, as Magic Gaming led throughout majority of the first three quarters, ultimately succumbing to a late run by the Nets. Regardless, it’s safe to say this Magic Gaming team is much more competitive than their 0-2 record suggests.

The Magic are led by their point guard, Reizey, who is currently averaging 16.5 points and 13 assists. The assist total makes him second in the league for that category. Don’t forget about the center for Magic Gaming, KingCamRoyalty. He knows how to find high-percentage looks, shooting a remarkable 18-of-19 from the field through the first two games, helping him to a 19.5 point and nine-rebound average to open play.

T-Wolves Gaming also had a bye last week after splitting a pair of games in the opening set of the regular season. The T-Wolves dropped their first match against Bucks Gaming 80-57 while avenging that loss with a 69-58 victory over Lakers Gaming (1-2) the next night.

Similar to Magic Gaming, the T-Wolves get the majority of their production from a dynamic point guard and center combination. Their point guard, BearDaBeast, dropped 19 points and 11 assists in the win over Lakers Gaming. The big man, FEAST, has been living up to his name while averaging 14 points and 12 rebounds through the first two games. He has also notched 2.5 blocks per contest, ranking fourth in the league for that category.

Needless to say, this is an intriguing matchup between a pair of teams looking to prove that their true ability supersedes their place in the early season standings.
