PLAYER PROFILE: Gerald “SICK ONE” Knapp is one of the most decorated players in NBA 2K League history…He is a two-time tournament champion and 2020 All-NBA First Team member…The veteran is entering his fifth season in 2022 and he’s one of the original members of the league…The elite big man is the lone returnee from last year’s Mavs Gaming roster and he is the frontcourt anchor the roster was built around…Sick One also makes up one half of the Knapp brothers, who became the first set of siblings to play on the same team in NBA 2K League history…This season, the New Jersey native will reunite with his brother Jake “Legit” Knapp for the second time in their 2KL careers and the first time with the Mavs…The Mavs protected Sick One after 2021, making him ineligible for the expansion draft.
Sick One entered the NBA 2K League in 2018, when he was selected by Cavs Legion GC with the 19th overall pick…He was retained for the 2019 season and was traded to Raptors Uprising GC in May 2019, where he was then retained for the 2020 season…Sick One was traded to the Mavs in November 2020 during a swap with Hornets Venom GT.
In 2020, Sick One earned All-NBA 2K League First Team honors after averaging 14.4 points, 12.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 2.7 blocks and 1.8 steals in 36 regular-season games, while helping lead Raptors Uprising GC to a historic, undefeated 16-0 record in the regular season, as well as the championships of both THE TIPOFF and THE TURN…He ranked seventh in the league in both rebounds per game and blocks per game, and 11th in field goal percentage (69.7%).

MAVS GAMING OUTLOOK: 2022 marks the second season that Jerry “Sick One” Knapp will suit up for Mavs Gaming and his fifth overall year in the league…He is a highly-decorated athlete and considered one of the best centers in the world…Sick One is also one of the best passing bigs in league history and averaged an incredible 6.84 assists per game in a previous season…Growing up, sports served a huge role in his life, and he is especially fond of football…His favorite team is the New York Giants…Prior to joining the NBA 2K League, Jerry worked at the YMCA as a basketball coach for kids and he also worked security at MetLife Stadium…Knapp is the proud father to a little girl named Isabella…Head coach LT Fairley: “He’s the absolute best passing center in the league.
