Games of the Week

Cavs Legion GC 75, Knicks Gaming 73: This is an early contender for Game of the Year. The back-and-forth affair wasn’t pretty, at times even sloppy, with both teams struggling to protect the basketball while playing at a fast pace. Yet, the final minute made up for it. Knicks Gaming overcame an accidental timeout by Idrisdagoat6 to tie things on iamadamthe1st’s jumper. It gave Cavs Legion one final possession, during which Savage took things into his own hands and drove to the hoop for the game-winning dunk with 0.9 seconds remaining to silence the hometown crowd.

76ers GC 60, Heat Check Gaming 59: These two teams have a long history that includes meeting during last season’s playoffs. The finish this time around was an instant classic. 76ers GC looked out of sorts for much of the game but still had a chance to steal a win trailing by one point with under five seconds to go. Radiant found a cutting Newdini33, who overcame body-to-body contact for a layup off the glass to beat the buzzer. The relief for 76ers GC was evident as Radiant immediately wrapped the hero in a big bear hug on the stage.

Warriors Gaming Squad 53, 76ers 50: The rematch from THE TURN Powered by AT&T championship game ended with the same result. It was closer this time around, but WGS found a way to again grab the win. The spark plug was CB13, who exploded for 10 points in the final quarter after going scoreless over the first three, in helping his team rebound following a loss the night prior. 76ers GC’s attempt to force overtime didn’t come to fruition when ZDS missed from distance at the buzzer.

Blazer5 Gaming 56, Celtics Crossover Gaming 48: Any time two of the league’s top point guards are on the floor at the same time, you’re going to want to tune in. The showdown between Mama Im Dat Man and oFAB was a grind-it-out affair, with neither team completely finding their offensive rhythm. With the game on the line though, Mama came up clutch. He nailed a 3-pointer to extend Blazer5’s advantage to five points with 24 seconds left to effectively wrap up victory.

Outstanding Performances

Mo, Mavs Gaming (37 points, 7 assists, 6 3FGM) vs Pistons GT: Say this about Mo, he simply finds ways to get open. There might not be a better player in the league playing off the ball in getting to open spots on the floor. He did it to perfection in this one on the way to nailing 6 shots from distance in setting a new career high in points.

oFAB, Celtics Crossover Gaming (36 points, 13 assists, 5 steals) vs Heat Check Gaming: This was a vintage Fab performance. He simply couldn’t be contained offensively in setting a season high in scoring while holding his own on the defensive end with 5 takeaways. Most importantly, CLTX Gaming came away victorious.

Doza, Raptors Uprising GC (28 points, 10 assists, 5 3FGM) vs Lakers Gaming: This is the Doza his team has been waiting on since drafting him in the first round this year. Doza carried himself with a newly found confidence, dictating the flow of the game from the tip. It goes down as one of the best all-around outings of his career.

Mama Im Dat Man, Blazer5 Gaming (22 points, 11 assists, 2 steals) vs Raptors Uprising GC: Ho-hum, look who is on the list again. At this point, it’s hard to not include Mama as he’s played at an MVP level in every game this season. The league’s top scorer is a threat to put up a huge game every time he takes the floor.

Shockey, Nets GC (18 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, 9/9 FG) vs Knicks Gaming: Shockey has been in and out of the lineup in recent weeks. He played a huge role in Nets GC’s win over their crosstown rivals with his best all-around game of the season. He didn’t miss a shot while notching the double-double and grabbing a handful of steals.

Radiant, 76ers GC (21 points, 11 assists, 2 steals) vs Heat Check Gaming: The numbers are pretty standard by his lofty standards, but this one was more about grit. Radiant overcame some sluggish play in the early going to be the catalyst for a much-need win. He facilitated the game-winning basket to perfection to give 76ers GC a win at the buzzer.

Lav, Nets GC (21 points, 12 assists) vs Knicks Gaming: A move to point guard is paying off. Lav looks to have found his comfort zone, notching a pair of double-doubles this week as Nets GC grabbed a pair of wins. He tallied game-highs in both points and assists while keeping the offense humming in a narrow win to open their doubleheader in this one.
