NBA 2K League Power Rankings: Familiar Faces Hold Down the Top 2 Spots as We Head to THE TICKET

Week 8 of the regular season will be remembered as one of the most unpredictable slates of games to date.

Four of the five teams from the top of last week’s power rankings suffered a loss. That includes 76ers GC, who narrowly avoided a doubleheader sweep.

Find out if the flurry of losses caused chaos in this week’s rankings.

Up with a Rocket!

Pistons GT benefited the most from the disruption at the top, jumping two places to No. 6.

Falling Back

A second straight loss dropped Mavs Gaming out of the top-5, moving them down to No. 7.

  1. Blazer5 Gaming

Regular-season record: 8-1

Last week: 1

On the ropes for a second straight week, Blazer5 found a way to pull out a win over Cavs Legion to avoid consecutive losses. It wasn’t easy, however, as they trailed by double-digits in the third quarter before outscoring their foes from Cleveland 22-6 in the fourth quarter. THE TURN champions enter the season’s final tournament as the top seed for THE TICKET.

  1. 76ers GC

Regular-season record: 7-3

Last week: 2

It was almost a disaster of a weekend for 76ers GC, who needed a big comeback to force OT and beat Pacers Gaming to salvage a doubleheader split. It came after they opened with a loss to Knicks Gaming. They experimented in the second game with a lineup change that saw Radiant jump from point guard to small forward. We’ll see if they revert back next week.

  1. Cavs Legion GC

Regular-season record: 6-4

Last week: 4

They were in the driver’s seat for much of a highly anticipated showdown with first-place Blazer5 before stumbling down the stretch. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Cavs Legion, who still remain in the top four of the league standings. Hood (26) and Godddof2k (14) combined for 40 of the team’s 53 points in defeat.

  1. Celtics Crossover Gaming

Regular-season record: 5-5

Last week: 3

Meet the streakiest team in the league. One week after handing Blazer5 their first loss of the regular season, Celtics Crossover was dealt a loss at the hands of Heat Check Gaming in an emotion-filled contest. They had a chance to force overtime, but missed two 3-pointer attempts in the closing seconds to snap their two-game winning streak.

  1. Wizards District Gaming

Regular-season record: 5-4

Last week: 6

Wizards District have responded with a pair of wins following a two-game losing skid. They have Boo Painter to thank for their most recent win over Grizz Gaming. The do-it-all forward became the second member of the league’s triple-double club, finishing with 45 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds as a one-man wrecking crew.

  1. Pistons GT

Regular-season record: 6-3

Last week: 8

A mid-season slump appears to be behind Pistons GT, who beat Kings Guard Gaming this week for back-to-back victories. They relied on the longball in the close win, hitting eight 3-pointers, including four by Rux and three by Im So far Ahead. Pistons GT enters the tournament alone in third place.

  1. Mavs Gaming

Regular-season record: 5-4

Last week: 5

Mavs Gaming is probably still wondering how they let a win slip away this week against Warriors Gaming Squad. After controlling the game throughout, they allowed a 7-0 run to close the game and seal their fate in the three-point loss. Dayfri led the way with 23 points for Mavs Gaming, who suffered their second loss in as many weeks.

  1. Heat Check Gaming

Regular-season record: 5-4

Last week: 9

They got the final word in their vocal battle with Celtics Crossover, securing a win in a game that closely contested throughout. Hotshot nearly notched a triple-double with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for Heat Check Gaming, who have won three straight to jump into the thick of the playoff race.

  1. Jazz Gaming

Regular-season record: 5-4

Last week: 7

Jazz Gaming is slowly heading in the wrong direction following back-to-back losses. They let a 15-point halftime lead slip away in this week’s loss to Magic Gaming, with Yeah I Compete’s attempt to tie the game at the buzzer rimming out. Despite the setback, they are squarely in the mix for a playoff berth entering the final leg of the season.

  1. Magic Gaming

Regular-season record: 5-4

Last week: 10

A spot in the postseason seemed far fetched just weeks ago, but that’s exactly where Magic Gaming has positioned themselves. They came back to beat Jazz Gaming for a second straight win behind 19 points apiece from Kontrul and Marley213s. We’ll see if they can sustain their elevated level of play down the stretch.

  1. Pacers Gaming

Regular-season record: 3-5

Last week: 11

They’re likely kicking themselves after letting a big lead slip away in a near-upset of 76ers GC. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Pacers Gaming. It cost them the chance at the No. 1 seed at THE TICKET, but they still head into the tournament in fine shape as the third seed.

  1. Raptors Uprising GC

Regular-season record: 4-6

Last week: 12

One of the hotter teams recently, Raptors Uprising is 3-1 over their past four games. It’s good enough to give them the second seed at THE TICKET. Their latest win saw them overcome an early deficit, with all five players scoring in double figures and making 12 3-pointers as a team in a win over Warriors Gaming Squad.

  1. Knicks Gaming

Regular-season record: 3-7

Last week: 13

Their season was headed in the wrong direction with four consecutive losses, but a win over 76ers GC this week might just be the spark to turn it around. Knicks Gaming shook up their front court, sliding Idristhagoat6 down to small forward. He finished with 22 points while GOOFY757 was dominant in the paint with 33 points and 11 rebounds.

  1. Grizz Gaming

Regular-season record: 4-6

Last week: 16

A weekend spilt has Grizz Gaming still feeling good. They beat Bucks Gaming in the doubleheader opener before succumbing to Wizards District Gaming. AuthenticAfrican finished with 59 points, 23 assists and 9 rebounds combined for Grizz Gaming, who have won three of five to climb the standings.

  1. Kings Guard Gaming

Regular-season record: 3-6
Last week: 14

There isn’t a colder team in the league than Kings Guard Gaming. Their most recent loss, a narrow setback to Pistons GT, was their fifth straight defeat. They toyed with a lineup change that saw Timelycook move from point guard to small forward. He responded with a team-high 20 points but couldn’t snap his team out of its funk.

  1. Warriors Gaming Squad

Regular-season record: 2-7

Last week: 17

They continue to make weekly strides and have been playing their opponents tight, even if it hasn’t resulted in an abundance of wins. Warriors Gaming Squad finished with a doubleheader split this week, notching a huge win over Mavs Gaming before falling to Raptors Uprising. They’ll face Kings Guard Gaming in the play-in game at THE TICKET.

  1. Bucks Gaming

Regular-season record: 3-6

Last week: 15

After looking like a rejuvenated bunch just weeks ago, Bucks Gaming has taken a step back with consecutive losses. They fell behind by 20 point at halftime and showed little fight in this week’s loss to Grizz Gaming. BigMeek, who was averaging 20.0 points in the front court in the four prior games, was limited to 5 points while starting at shooting guard.
