Magic Gaming Dominate Raptors Uprising GC

May 29, 2019

Magic Gaming put on a dominant showing in their 72-50 victory over Raptors Uprising GC on Wednesday in the 2K League.

Thanks to a bye week, Magic Gaming (4-4) had two weeks to think over their 36-point loss to Warriors Gaming Squad in Week 5. It was easily their worst performance of the season so far, but they managed to bounce back Wednesday with one of their most dominant outings yet.

Magic Gaming hopped onto Raptors Uprising GC (3-5) early, making each of their first six shots from the field and jumping out to a 15-4 lead in the first three minutes. From there, they refused to let up on either end of the floor. They went on to lead 36-15 at the end of the first half, as they also held Raptors Uprising to just 6-of-23 (26 percent) shooting in the first half and forced them into eight turnovers.

It was more of the same in the second half, as while Magic Gaming did let up a bit on defense over the final 12 minutes, they continued to pour it on offensively and opened a lead as large as 28 points. With Magic Gaming losing plenty of points towards point differential against Warriors Gaming Squad, this was the exact kind of dominant performance they needed Wednesday night.

Center KingCamRoyalty set the tone on both ends for Magic Gaming, posting 13 points and eight rebounds in the first half and finishing with a double-double of 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 15 rebounds. While he did only have two blocked shots, KingCamRoyalty used his size to impact shots from Raptors Uprising throughout the game. Point guard Reizey added a game-high 21 points in addition to his eight assists.

Meanwhile, while Raptors Uprising did manage to salvage their shooting percentage in the second half, they failed to string together a series of stops on defense at any point during Wednesday’s contest. Point guard Doza got off to a fast start, scoring the team’s first seven points in the first quarter, and he finished with a team-high 13 points and 10 assists. OOC Slim was close behind with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while center Sick x 973 and power forward Kenny Got Work added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
