Raptors Push Past Pacers in THE TURN Play-In Game

June 8, 2018

In the play-in game of THE TURN, Raptors Uprising Gaming defeated Pacers Gaming 71-57 on Friday.

While both teams sit at the bottom of the NBA 2K League standings, it was clear from the jump that the Raptors were on a different level than the winless Pacers. Swizurk might have kept the Pacers within a few points with some early three pointers in the first quarter, but it wasn’t long before Toronto completely ran away with the game.

Led by the duo of Kenny and Yusuf_Scarbz, the Raptors boxed far above its weight class, looking more like a team that was 5-1 rather than 1-5. While the aforementioned duo were the ones powering the offense, the Raptors were doing it all on both sides of the floor. Holding the Pacers to under 50 percent shooting from the field for most of the game, it seemed like Toronto could simply do no wrong all game long. Anytime they would get a stop, they’d march right back down the floor and continue padding their lead.

Most alarming of all for the Pacers, however, was the relative absence of star WoLF 74. While he’s usually the driving force of this team, he had just two points through three quarters and ended with only 10 points. He might have shot 4-of-5 from the field, but the lack of involvement in the Pacers’ offense ended up being the dagger for this team as they were sent packing before THE TURN even got officially underway.

The Raptors move on to face Blazer5 Gaming in the quarterfinals of THE TURN later in the day.
