Mavs Gaming Lock Up No. 1 Seed for THE TURN

May 1, 2019

By Rotowire

Mavs Gaming boosted its winning streak to seven straight with a 64-60 victory over T-Wolves Gaming on Wednesday during Week 4 of the NBA 2K League.

Mavs Gaming locked up the first seed for THE TURN in strong fashion, despite what the final score might indicate. PeteBeBallin picked up his second straight player of the game honor by dominating the paint, scoring 21 and picking up 16 rebounds to go with a pair of steals and a block. Dimez put in a 12-point, 12-assist double-double, orchestrating the pick-and-roll like a maestro, but it was Mo and Sherm that secured the win in a dramatic fourth quarter. Mo picked up most of his 19 points hitting clutch shots down the stretch but he and Sherm made most of their impact on defense. Mo finished with four steals while Sherm picked up three steals without committing a single foul, preventing threatening T-Wolves point guard BearDaBest from getting his game going.

T-Wolves managed to make the last few minutes of the quarter interesting when JoJo caught fire from beyond the arc, hitting six threes for 18 points. The explosion in offense couldn’t make up for its lackluster first quarter, though, as the Wolves only scored five points in the opening stanza. BearDaBeast got locked up, turning the ball over nine times and only scored eight on 3-of-10 shooting. NachoTraynor and FEAST each reached double-digits, but couldn’t contain PeteBeBallin in the paint. In addition, poor foul management and defense let the Mavs stay ahead late, getting into a shooting match while down eight points.
