Bucks Gaming (2-4) was able to grab a victory Saturday against Magic Gaming (3-3) despite being down in the first, second and third quarters.
Magic Gaming jumped out to a solid 19-16 lead in the first quarter. The squad was able to retain that three-point advantage going into halftime, leading Bucks Gaming 31-28. As expected, considering how close the game was, there wasn’t much separating the two teams on the stat sheet. Both Magic Gaming and Bucks Gaming had eight assists and five turnovers, though Magic Gaming grabbed one more rebound and drilled one more three-pointer.
The third quarter was the same story, as Bucks Gaming trailed by three points, 47-44, heading into the final period. Things shifted in the fourth period, however, as Bucks Gaming stepped up its work on the glass and simply made more shots down the stretch. Down 65-61 with 10 seconds left, Magic Gaming was forced to start fouling — a strategy that did not pay off.
Bucks Gaming had four players score in double digits, while BigMeek and Game6Drake dropped double-doubles. The former posted 17 points, 13 boards, two assists, two steals and two blocks. The latter contributed 13 points, 13 dimes, two rebounds, one steal and one block. Bucks Gaming was able to grab 21 rebounds compared to Magic Gaming’s 16.
Magic Gaming also had four players in double figures, though nobody was able to post a double-double. KontruL was great handling the ball, dishing a team-high six assists with only one turnover to go along with his 12 points. SUMPREMEPULLER got hot from distance, drilling four of his six shots from deep, also contributing 12 points. KingCamRoyalty played an all-around game, scoring nine points and grabbing nine boards while adding five assists and three blocks. UCMANNY and marley213s each led the team with 14 points apiece.
Bucks Gaming next face off against Kings Guard Gaming (3-3) on June 22. Magic Gaming next plays 76ers GC (4-2) the same day.
