In the final game of Friday’s NBA 2K League slate, Raptors Uprising Gaming easily pushed past Kings Guard Gaming with a 66-54 win.
While the first quarter was a somewhat close affair, it wasn’t long before Raptors Uprising (2-5) found a groove and completely ran away with the game. When it comes to who was doing the scoring for Toronto Gaming, you can take your pick. Kenny, TsJosh, All Hail Trey, and KingQuai614 all put up points in spades from the second quarter on as the Raptors Uprising outscored the Kings Guard 50-42 in the final three quarters to get a much-needed win.
For the Kings Guard (3-3), it was an overreliance on three pointers that ended up being their undoing. By the end of the game, they shot just 5-for-14 from beyond the arc. Anytime that they put up a missed three, the Raptors Uprising simply waltzed by down to the other end of the court and added onto their growing lead. Even in the loss, though, timelycook put together a solid performance with 24 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
While the Raptors Uprising are surely happy about the win given they had only picked up a single win this season, it was still a bit disheartening to see Detoxys only come up with two points the entire game. Only putting up three shots in total, he was barely involved in the game at all. Once the Raptors GC get down to the wire this season and face some of the big dogs of the NBA 2K League, they will surely want to keep him much more in the loop.
