Powered by AuthenticAfrican and a formidable frontcourt rebounding effort, Grizz Gaming (3-5) defeated Knicks Gaming (2-7) 69-61.
After going back and forth with Knicks Gaming for most of the first half, Grizz Gaming exploded on an 11-2 run to go up 34-27. AuthenticAfrican could not be tamed in this half, as his superb three-point shooting — 3-of-3 in the first half — coupled with his ability to find UniversalPhenom in the paint allowed the Grizz Gaming to pull away from their competition. He slowed down in the second, but ended the game with 14 points and 21 assists.
The Knicks Gaming wanted iamadamthe1st to keep pace with his assignment, but he soon anchored his team down with his poor day from the field. By the end of the half, he was 2-of-6 with two turnovers on only four assists.
In the second, they focused more on GOOFY 757 and IdrisDaGoat in the paint, but it was too little, too late for the struggling Knicks Gaming. They also were outrebounded by UniversalPhenom and DDouble2K 21-18, which is a small, yet unexpected, loss for the otherwise strong New York Gaming frontcourt.
This game marked Knicks Gaming’s fourth loss in a row since THE TURN tournament and put them second-to-last in the standings. Their schedule also does not get any easier; they will face the 76ers Gaming Club next week and most likely have a play-in game for THE TICKET tournament that could lead to a match against #1 seed Blazer5 Gaming.
Meanwhile, the Grizz Gaming will finish the second part of the regular season with a game against Bucks Gaming, a team that were squashed by Pacers Gaming earlier on Saturday.
