Pistons GT (4-1) cruised to another victory, defeating Cavs Legion (2-4) 57-50 in a turnover-filled, defensive-minded contest.
Cavs Legion struggled taking care of the ball early, racking up four turnovers in the first quarter, which ballooned to eight by the end of the first half. However, the team managed to stay competitive through two quarters by shooting the ball well, finishing the half 10-of-18 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Pistons GT could have gotten out to a bigger lead, but went 1-of-7 from distance, which kept the game close. At the end of the first half, Pistons GT led by one point, up 23-22.
The offense picked up in the third quarter from both squads, but Pistons GT managed to pull away and headed into the fourth quarter up 45-37.
In the fourth quarter, Cavs Legion went on a run of their own, even getting in the bonus with three minutes left in the game. However, Pistons GT had a lock on the game and was able to retain the lead to secure the victory. Cavs Legion finished with 15 turnovers, over twice their average (6.5).
Im So Far Ahead and Lets Get It Ramo were the two standouts for Pistons GT, the pair combining for 37 points, 12 assists, nine rebounds and seven steals. Lets Get It Ramo is fifth in the league in blocks per game (1.9), but couldn’t secure one against Cavs Legion.
For Cavs Legion, Sick x 973 helped keep things together, posting 23 points (9-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt), seven rebounds and four assists.
Pistons GT’s next opponent is Mavs Gaming (4-1). The two teams face off June 23. On the same day, Cavs Legion plays Heat Check Gaming (2-3).
