Pacers Gaming Improve Their Win Streak To 3

June 30, 2018

Pacers Gaming (3-4) silenced their critics, continuing their three-game winstreak at the expense of Bucks Gaming (3-5), who they beat 76-63 to begin Saturday’s slate of NBA 2K League games.

While the score line never got too egregious, it was a thoroughly impressive performance from Pacers Gaming, who lead by double digits since midway through the second quarter. While both teams sit below .500, Milwaukee Gaming had been heating up, winning its last two games against quality opposition, making Indiana Gaming’s win all the sweeter.

An uncharacteristically high amount of turnovers could be the biggest reason why Milwaukee Gaming struggled to chip away at the suffocating deficit, as the normally reliable offense threw the ball away 14 times throughout the 24 minutes. Give credit to point guard WoLF 74 and center FrostyTheTruth who both tallied three steals to their score line to help create the massive turnover differential. A 64 percent field goal percentage through four quarters also helped push the lead from difficult to insurmountable, as Indiana Gaming peppered Milwaukee Gaming all game long with low post buckets or quality mid range jumpers. Considering Bucks Gaming struggled to make even their low post shots, the massive field goal tradeoff ultimately became too much of an uphill battle for Bucks Gaming to climb.

The two low post threats for Pacers Gaming – power forward TuckerLocksUp and center FrostyTheTruth combined to go 16-of-23 from the field, scoring just under half of the team’s points and also contributed 13 of the team’s 17 total rebounds. On the few occasions Indiana did miss shots, or on the rare times Bucks Gaming didn’t cough over the ball, the low post duo would pick up a number of critical offensive rebounds which would extend possessions.

The quality win could be pivotal in terms of positioning for the upcoming tournament, which takes place in two weeks, as Pacers Gaming could find itself in the top half of the standings if it wins its next game – an unthinkable proposition just a handful of weeks ago when Indiana Gaming was sitting at the bottom of the standings.
