The 76ers Gaming Club took a short breath before getting back on the court to face Raptors Uprising Gaming Club in their second TIPOFF Tournament contest to win their first 2K League game 70-57.
Philadelphia began with a a 12-2 run through four minutes of play, relying on pick-and-rolls and pick-and-pops to open up scoring opportunities for ZDS, Steez and Newdini. At the end of the first half, Newdini walked off into the locker room after hitting a half-ending three to give his team a 37-26 lead. He would end the game with 14 points, hitting 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
That advantage continued to grow in the second half thanks to an unrelenting 76ers GC offense. Refusing to slow his roll, Radiant finished with 18 points on 6-10 shooting, making two out of four three-point attempts. All but one Philadelphia player scored double-digit points in this game, with the entire team making 55 percent of their shots. Raptors Uprising GC fought back in the fourth quarter, winning it 18-10, but that scoring surge only scratched the 76ers GC advantage.
Aa much as the 76ers Gaming Club’s scoring highlighted the big win, the Raptors Uprising GC’s scoring and turnover issues were hard to ignore. TsJosh, All Hail Trey and Detoxys combined for 24 points 10-18 shooting, only six more points than their leading scorer Kenny, who hit half of his 16 attempts. The team also combined for seven turnovers and lost the rebounding game by eight boards.
This game complicated the Group C playoff picture, bringing both the 76ers GC and Raptors Uprising GC to a 1-1 overall record. Should there be a tiebreaker between these teams, the 76ers GC would take the higher seed for the TIPOFF playoffs.
