76ers GC held staady in their race for the second seed, knocking off Jazz Gaming 89-71 during the second game of Week 12.
It would be inaccurate to suggest Jazz Gaming were doomed from the start as small forward Yeah I Compete tallied 25 points in the first half alone, but even with the massive scoring output, Utah still trailed by seven points at the half.
It became clear in the final 12 minutes that 76ers GC had caught on to the five-out gameplay and quickly adapted to it in the third quarter, building a distinct lead through the ensuing six minutes. By the start of the fourth quarter, the 76ers had essentially locked up the win, building on the point differential in what could be an underlying issue with Pistons GT also posting a similar record in the standings.
The loss was certainly a painful one for the Jazz as Yeah I Compete posted 41 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds in the game. Against the vaunted scoring output of the 76es, though, it just wasn’t enough. Radiant registered a 27-point, 15-assist double-double, while Steez added 34 points and nine assists of his own. If the 76ers continue this level of play, a deep playoff run could be in their future.
