The bout between the league’s top two teams was a highly competitive, back-and-forth affair. The first quarter ended with 76ers GC taking a slight lead, up 18-17. That lead expanded by the end of the second quarter, with the team up 42-35, despite making just two threes. Both teams shot over 60 percent from the field during the half, but Blazer5 Gaming committed six turnovers to 76ers GC’s three, and snagged four fewer rebounds.
Drastic change was on the way, however, as Blazer5 Gaming was able to make it a two-point game after the third period. The team carried that momentum through the four quarter, putting on a dominant performance and finishing the tilt on a 9-2 run to grab the win.
Mama Im Dat Man and OneWildWalnut were huge during the contest — the former posting 21 points, 15 assists, one rebound and just two turnovers, while the latter dropped 31 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks. Coming into the contest, Mama Im Dat Man was second in the league in assists per game (12.9), while OneWildWalnut led the league in rebounding (12.2 per game) and was second in shot-blocking (2.3 per game).
76ers GC had all five players score in double-digits, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory. Radiant, who came into the contest fourth in the league in both assists (12.1) and steals (2.3) per game, posted 11 points, 15 assists and two steals. The team’s only other double-double came from Steez, who accumulated 16 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, one assist and one steal.
76ers GC’s next tilt comes June 22 against Magic Gaming, while Blazer5 Gaming’s next contest arrives June 23 against Warriors Gaming Squad.
