The 10-seed Bucks Gaming faced off against 23-seed Celtics Crossover Gaming on opening night of THE TURN, powered by AT&T. Celtics Crossover Gaming got off to a strong start in Game 1, taking an early 36-32 halftime lead thanks to strong scoring from oFAB. The second half was all Bucks Gaming, however, as the team outscored Celtics Crossover Gaming 32-18 (including 16-7 in the fourth quarter) to take a 64-54 victory and a 1-0 series lead. For Celtics Crossover Gaming, oFAB led the way with 34 points, though it took him 27 shots to reach that total. NOxAUTOGRAPHSx posted a monster stat line with 10 points, 17 boards, seven assists and five blocks, but the combined contributions from the other three starters (10 points, six rebounds, four assists) were minimal. Bucks Gaming utilized a more balanced approach, with Regg going for 18 points and 10 dimes, Arooks and Ty each scoring in double figures, and Plondo grabbing 15 boards to go with a full stat line. Celtics Crossover Gaming shot less than 47 percent from the floor with seven triples compared to 52 percent for Bucks Gaming and 12 triples.
While Game 1 was close until the fourth quarter, Game 2 got out of hand after halftime. Through two quarters, Bucks Gaming led 44-38, but that lead quickly ballooned to 68-49 after a big third quarter. The fourth quarter was even more impressive, as Bucks Gaming poured in 37 points to take a 105-68 win and complete the series sweep. Reg turned in an impressive performance, going for 15 points, 29 assists and five steals. He finished with a nearly 3-1 assist-turnover ratio despite coughing up the ball 10 times. Arooks, Squidris and Plondo all eclipsed 20 points in the lopsided victory, and the team shot a scorching 78 percent from the floor. For Celtics Crossover Gaming, oFAB scored 33 to go with six assists and five steals, and NOxAUTOGRAPHSx nearly triple-doubled with 12 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.
With the loss, Celtics Crossover Gaming is eliminated from THE TURN, powered by AT&T. Bucks Gaming moves on to the final field of 16 and will face 7-seed Hornets Venom GT on Thursday.
