T-Wolves Advance to Finals

T-Wolves Gaming completed their second two-game sweep in as many series Friday when they took down Warriors Gaming Squad 68-46 in Game 2 of their semifinal series in the 2019 2K League Playoffs.

The difference in Friday’s contest was the second and fourth quarters, as for the most part, the other 12 minutes of the game were played to a standstill. After ending the first six minutes tied at 12 points apiece, T-Wolves Gaming went into another gear on both sides of the ball to start the second period, rattling off an 11-4 run to open up the game a bit. They had hit 10 of their first 13 shots from the field and finished the first half shooting a scorching 14-of-18 while going up by 10 points.

Warriors Gaming Squad certainly didn’t lose their composure in the second half, as they didn’t allow T-Wolves Gaming to pull away completely, but they were unable to string a run together to cut into the deficit.

That, however, was not the case in the fourth quarter, as T-Wolves Gaming decided at that point it was time to pull away and advance into the 2K League Finals. They went on a 10-0 run to begin the period, and the ninth straight victory was officially in sight for T-Wolves Gaming, who has not lost since June 14th.

It was a pretty subdued performance for star point guard BearDaBeast, who only scored 10 points. He did, however, record 13 assists and allowed his teammates to shoulder the load in a terrific complete team performance Friday. Shooting guard TURNUPDEFENSE was impressive on both ends, scoring a game-high 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting and recording six steals. Center JoJo accounted for 17 points and six assists, while small forward JMoneyRep817 added 15 points of his own.

Meanwhile, the Warriors Gaming Squad guards couldn’t get anything going offensively against an active T-Wolves Gaming defense. As a result, the frontcourt had to do all they could to keep the team afloat. Center Type scored a team-high 16 points to go along with eight rebounds and five steals, while power forward Jin added 14 points. The other three members of Warriors Gaming Squad combined to score just 16 total points.
