T-Wolves Gaming Wins a Tight Round 1 Contest

July 25, 2019

T-Wolves Gaming opened up their postseason with a convincing 64-51 victory over Kings Guard Gaming in Game 1 of their first-round series in the 2K League Playoffs on Thursday.

This was a fairly comfortable victory for T-Wolves Gaming, as the playoff pressure didn’t phase them on their way to earning an eighth straight victory. They came out firing, jumping out to an early lead and expanding it to a 10-point advantage by the end of the first quarter.

After T-Wolves Gaming managed to keep their distance through the remainder of the second half, the third quarter is when Kings Guard Gaming finally made their move. They came out of halftime looking like a different team, wasting no time rattling off an 8-0 run and quickly shortening the deficit to just three points. Teams then traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter, and the difference remained at three heading into the final six minutes of Game 1.

Unfortunately for Kings Guard Gaming, they weren’t going to cut into that deficit anymore than they already did, as T-Wolves Gaming opened the final quarter on an 8-2 run and eventually regained their double-digit lead. At that point, Kings Guard Gaming essentially decided it was time to pack it up and set their sights on Game 2.

T-Wolves Gaming point guard BearDaBeast was once again stellar Thursday night, as he continues to stuff the box score during his team’s winning streak. The point guard posted a game-high 22 points and dished out 11 assists while committing just a pair of turnovers. Center JoJo added 17 points, while small forward JMoneyRep817 added 16 points of his own. As a team, T-Wolves Gaming shot a scorching 62.5 percent from the field.

As for Kings Guard Gaming, small forward BallLikeSeam had it going offensively, going 3-of-3 from behind the arc and 7-of-10 from the field overall on his way to scoring a team-high 19 points. Newly-crowned rookie of the year Bp had an effective game with 17 points and 10 assists, but the other three members of Kings Guard Gaming would combine for just 15 total points.
