Hawks Talon GC matched up against the undefeated Raptors Uprising GC on Thursday in a matchup of high-scoring, top-10 teams. Game 1 opened with a 17-12 Hawks lead after the first quarter, but Raptors Uprising cut the lead to three at halftime before a 20-11 third-quarter run put them in the lead. Sporting a six-point advantage going into the final frame, the Raptors didn’t relinquish the lead and took the opening game 76-68. Point guard Kenny Got Work paced his team in scoring with 25 points, adding in eight assists and five triples. Timelycook knocked down 17 points and swiped six steals, and Sick One posted 12 points, 13 boards, six assists and three blocks. While Raptors Uprising got a well-balanced team effort on offense, the Hawks were a two-man show in the scoring department, contributing to the loss. The backcourt tandem of Kel and BP scored 25 apiece, accounting for 50 of the team’s 68 points. Lee scored eight points but grabbed 19 boards and handed out five assists in the loss.

Game 2 was a closely-contested contest throughout and began with a 19-18 Raptors lead thanks to 13 from Kenny Got Work in the first quarter. The Raptors led by four at half and five at the end of third quarter, with Kenny Got Work up to 30 points through the first 18 minutes. Another 13-point quarter from the high-scoring point guard brought his total to a game-leading 43 points and fueled his team to a 79-71 win to complete the sweep. Timelycook contributed 17 points, and Sick One teased a triple double with seven points, nine boards and nine assists. Hawks Talon GC got some help across the board in this one, as four of five players scored in double figures, and the team shot 61 percent from the floor. Unfortunately for Hawks, the improved effort wasn’t enough. BP led the way with 26 points, Kel went for 16 points, followTHEGOD added 12 points and MrStylez provided 10.

Raptors Uprising GC’s healthy offensive output continued in the squad’s latest victory, with the team shooting a healthy 27-of-42 from beyond the arc in the two-game sweep. Raptors Uprising GC finishes the evening a perfect 6-0 to remain atop the 2K League standings, while Hawks Talon GC drops to 3-2 on the season.
