Raptors Uprising GC (5-6) took down Pacers Gaming (5-4) by a score of 53-46 Thursday night in Week 8 of 2K League regular-season play.

The Raptors jumped out two a quick 4-0 lead in the first minute of the contest, and they held a 7-2 lead through two minutes of action. The Pacers struggled to shoot and take care of the basketball in the early going, and it showed on the scoreboard. Raptors Uprising GC held a 16-7 lead heading into the second stanza.

The Pacers showed some signs of life in the second quarter and cut the deficit down to four points with a minute remaining, but the Raptors got a few quick buckets followed by a pair of free throws to increase the lead to 10 at the break. Sick x 973 led the Raptors with nine points and five boards at the half, while Man In A Car paced the Pacers with five points and three rebounds. It’s also worth noting that Raptors Uprising GC took 10 more shots than the Pacers, which certainly played a factor.

Pacers Gaming appeared to have more energy coming out of the half, but the Raptors managed to maintain their 10-point lead for the first three minutes of the period. Instead of cutting into the deficit, the Pacers fell behind by 13 heading into the final six minutes of action.

It looked to be the Raptors’ game for the taking with one quarter to go, but the Pacers made a strong run in the final minutes of the contest and cut the deficit to just three points with under a minute to go. The Raptors would manage to seal the deal on a corner three with 26 second remaining, however. Kenny Got Work got hot in the second half and finished with 22 points and eight assists for the Raptors. KingQuai614 also finished in double figures (11 points). Man In A Car led the Pacers in scoring with 13 points, while Ramo and Swizurk registered 12 and 10 points, respectively.
