T-Wolves Gaming made sure not to let another 20-plus-point deficit slip away Thursday, eviscerating Hawks Talon GC by a score of 84-41 during Week 8 of the NBA 2K League.
This one wasn’t close from the beginning. Despite entering the day as the lower seed (4-6), T-Wolves Gaming absolutely showed they were the better team Thursday, tormenting Hawks Talon GC (4-6) by holding them to a season-low 41 points.
BearDaBeast deserves the majority of the credit, as the vocal leader and point guard for T-Wolves Gaming set a career high with 30 points while going nine-of-12 from the field and eight-of-10 from the charity stripe. The rookie point guard simply took what the defense was giving him, either knifing through the paint for easy buckets or stepping back on a pick-and-roll to drill an open three. BearDaBeast’s 16 first-half points were almost more than all of Hawks Talon GC (17 points) and his performance essentially set the tone for what was an extremely one-sided contest.
The rest of T-Wolves Gaming chipped in, particularly in a run-away fourth quarter, as the entire starting five scored 10 or more points. Power forward FEAST was instrumental in that cause, posting 12 points, eight rebounds, a stunning five steals, three assists and two blocks in an all-around effort.
It’s tough to really glean any positives from a moribund effort from Hawks Talon GC. Dat Boy Shotz’s shift to small forward did see him score 15 points, but the rest of the starting five failed to execute, committing a putrid 14 turnovers including eight in the second half.
