Hawks Talon GC (3-2) took the 68-54 victory over Nets GC (2-3) in Week 4 action of the NBA 2K League regular season Wednesday. The Hawks came off a heartbreaking loss to Mavs Gaming earlier in the night, so they were certainly looking for redemption here.
Wavy.zay of Nets GC put on a show in the first quarter by scoring 11 points along with two assists. That ignited the Nets to an 18-10 advantage after one stanza. The Hawks quickly reversed that trend by notching a 14-2 run to begin the second quarter. Steals translating to fastbreak points served as the fuel to a 29-27 halftime lead for the Hawks.
Hawks Talon GC stayed hot in the third quarter, as Dat Boy Shotz sparked a 9-2 run in the early minutes of the second half. The Nets strung together a few buckets in-between, but Hawks Talon posted another 8-2 run to push their lead to 50-38 heading into the final stanza.
From there, Nets GC never cut the deficit to single digits. Hawks Talon GC ultimately flexed their way to a convincing 68-54 win.
Dat Boy Shotz, power forward for the Hawks, was dubbed Intel Player of the Game with 29 points on 12-of-16 shooting. Arsonal flirted with a triple-double after finishing with 10 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists. The Hawks center ranked fourth in the league with 14.7 rebounds heading into this week, and he definitely helped the average here.
Wavy.zay finished with 20 points and eight assists in a losing effort for Nets GC. Their center, Shuttles, came close to a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
