By RotoWire

Pacers Gaming defeated Hawks Talon Gaming by a score of 56-51 to win their group in THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T.

Coming off a narrow victory in their first group game, Pacers Gaming came out firing in the first quarter. They jumped ahead 25-10 after the first and never looked back, though Hawks Talon Gaming made a game of it. The Hawks brought it to within seven points at halftime and narrowed the deficit to a single point in the third quarter and three points in the fourth, but couldn’t quite build up enough momentum to take a lead.

The story for Pacers Gaming was the play of Swizurk and their defense. Swizurk started strong, dropping 14 points in the first quarter and 22 points in the first half. He cooled off in the second half, but still ended the game with 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting (5-of-10 from three) along with three assists and four steals. As a team, Pacers Gaming nabbed 15 steals and ultimately forced Hawks Talon Gaming into 19 turnovers, which helped them maintain the lead throughout. With wins in both of their group stage games, the Pacers have 12 points, earning a spot in the knockout round of THE TIPOFF on Saturday.

On the side of Hawks Talon Gaming, the center Arsonal played well offensively and on the boards, scoring 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting and grabbing eight rebounds.
