NBA 2K League Increases Prize Pool to $1.2 Million for 2019 Season

The NBA 2K League will award $1.2 million in prize money throughout the 2019 season, with the largest prize pool reserved for the 2019 NBA 2K League champions.

Identical to the 2018 season, there will be four opportunities throughout the season for teams to win prize money: three tournaments and the 2019 NBA 2K League Playoffs. THE TIPOFF tournament will have a prize pool of $120,000. THE TURN and THE TICKET will each feature a prize pool of $180,000. The 2019 NBA 2K League Playoffs will have a total prize pool of $720,000, with the NBA 2K League champions receiving $360,000 from that pool.

New this season, the NBA 2K League will have three types of player contracts for all players who were retained from season one or are drafted in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft. All players who competed in the inaugural season and were retained by teams prior to the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will earn a base salary of $37,000. First-round selections in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will earn a base salary of $35,000. Players who are selected in the second round or later of the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will be paid a $33,000 base salary.

All contracts are six-month agreements and players can sign endorsement deals to earn income in addition to their NBA 2K League compensation package, subject to league guidelines.
Housing and Benefits

In addition to base salary, players will receive paid housing in their team market for the entire season, and relocation expenses will be included in compensation packages. Additional benefits include medical insurance and a retirement plan.
